AmeriCorps Seniors Program

CMCCAA offers a rewarding volunteer opportunity for seniors through AmeriCorps Seniors: the Foster Grandparent Program.

This program gives seniors the chance to share their time, skills, and life experience to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and in the community.

Who Can Volunteer?

  • 55 years of age or older

  • Resident of Montgomery County

  • Medical exam for new volunteer

  • Pass FBI fingerprint background screen

  • Enjoy interaction with children

What Do Volunteers Do?

  • Help children improve their reading skills

  • Mentor and support children

Benefits To Volunteer

  • Hourly Stipend – nontaxable income that does not affect any other benefits you currently receive

  • Transportation Costs

  • Paid Time Off

Where Can You Serve?

  • APSU Learning Center

  • Clarksville-Montgomery County School System (11 locations)

  • Head Start (5 locations)

  • Power & Grace Prepatory Academy – (Christian School)
