Project Help – People Helping People

Project Help is a community-supported program that provides emergency utility assistance for households at risk of losing electric, gas, or water services. Funded entirely by local donations, it helps fill the gap for families who may not qualify for other assistance programs.

How the Program Works

Community Action Agency partners with:

  • Clarksville Department of Electricity (CDE)

  • Cumberland Electric Membership Corporation (CEMC)

  • Clarksville Gas and Water Department

Each month, customers of these utility providers can choose to donate when paying their bill. All donations go directly to the Community Action Agency and are used to help local residents facing utility shut-offs.

Why Project Help Matters

While federal assistance programs are available, they come with strict income eligibility requirements. Project Help allows us to assist households who may be slightly above those income limits but are still in need.

This program ensures that no one is turned away simply because they don’t meet the cut-off for other programs.

How to Donate

You can support Project Help by:

  • Add a donation to your monthly bill through CEMC, CDE, or Clarksville Gas and Water.

  • Visit your utility provider’s website to donate online.

Every contribution, no matter how small, makes a meaningful impact.
