Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)

Priority in energy assistance, as well as the level of assistance, is based on the energy burden, income, and size of the applicant's household as well as the presence of vulnerable household members (i.e. frail elderly, handicapped, and infants).

Clients do not need an appointment to pick up or fill out applications. It can take up to 30 days to process applications. You may obtain applications at our main office or the link below.

20-21 LIHEAP Application

Incomplete applications or applications missing the required documentation will cause delays. Please have all the following documentation included with the application before submitting.Eligibility period is October 1, 2019 - September 30, 2020

Documents that need to accompany your application include:

  • Proof of Social Security Numbers for everyone in the household, children under 1 without a SS Card must provide a copy of the birth certificate
  • Government issue ID’s for anyone 18 years of age and older
  • Proof of Household current Gross Monthly Income
    • If paid weekly provide last (4) pay stubs
    • If paid bi-weekly provide last (2) pay stubs
    • For SSI/SSD provide current Social Security Award
    • Most recent LES

Other income includes: Retirement, Pension, Family First, Child Support, VA Income, Rental Income and any other income received

  • Last 12 months of usage printout (electric, propane, etc.) and current month energy bill

$65,145 - 8

Households with more than 8 people, add $6,630 for each additional person
